CHILD WELL-BEING AND CHILD WELFARE (CW2) SPECIALIZATION:
DECLARATION OF INTENT TO COMPLETE

Students may declare their intent to complete the Child Well-being and Child Welfare (CW2) Specialization at any time between the start of advance registration in March of the foundation year and September of their advanced year, provided they have confirmation that their advanced year field placement is in a child- or youth-focused setting.

There is no application for CW2, but students must complete the field and academic requirements.

This form does NOT reserve a space in any required or pre-approved CW2 courses, nor guarantee that students will be placed in a child-focused field placement. It is the responsibility of the student to request and/or register for the specialization requirements.

Read the requirements for the Child Well-being and Child Welfare Specialization.

To submit your declaration of intent to complete the Child Well-being and Child Welfare Specialization click on the red button below. There is no penalty for not completing the specialization after declaring your intent to complete it. But if you are on track to meet the specialization requirements, you will be added to the CW2 listserv and invited to specialization-only activities. If you have any questions, contact Emily McCully, Associate Director of Academic Affairs and Global Programs, at emccully@upenn.edu.
