9. Penn has 40+ recognized fraternities and sororities! 

1. Interfraternity Council (IFC): 22 small to large-sized chapters. 21 are men's fraternities and 1 are gender-inclusive. Most are members of the NIC (North American Interfraternity Conference). The Primary Recruitment process is in January with registration. Upper-division students can join in the fall. 

2. Intercultural Greek Council (IGC): 11 small to medium-sized culturally-based fraternities and sororities. Most chapters at Penn are members of 3 national associations: NAPA (National Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Panhellenic Association), NALFO (National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations), and NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) also known as "The Divine 9" historically African-American fraternity and sororities. Each chapter has its own joining process during the academic year. Meet the Greeks event is at the beginning of each semester. 

3. Panhellenic Council (PHC): 7 large-sized women's organizations, and all are members of the NPC (National Panhellenic Council). Formal Recruitment Process in January and registration required. Upper-division students can join in the fall.
