The Latin American and Latinx Studies Internal Speaker (LALSIS) Series is an interdisciplinary forum for the presentation and discussion of research about Latin America or Latinxs conducted by the faculty and advanced graduate students of the University of Pennsylvania.

The LALSIS Series has four main objectives. First, presenters receive constructive feedback on their on-going research from colleagues in their discipline and other fields. Second, the members of the Penn community learn about and from the eminent scholarship of colleagues and students on campus. Third, the interactions taking place in LALSIS solidify an interdisciplinary community with interests in Latin America and Latinos at Penn. Fourth, such interactions facilitate future collaborations in teaching and research.

The series regularly meets on Tuesdays, often the first Tuesday of the month, from noon to 1:30pm, and applications are due Saturday, June 1, 2021
