SUMMER 2025 - FEDERAL WORK-STUDY INFORMATION/APPLICATION
Program Dates
The Summer Federal Work-Study Program begins on May 19, 2025 and ends August 17, 2025.
Eligibility Requirement
Summer Federal Work-Study Award eligibility is determined by both the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 FAFSA.
Award Amount
The Summer Federal Work-Study Award is $6,000.00. If you are enrolling in classes over the summer and receive financial aid, the work-study award amount may be reduced.
Off-Campus Employment
Only nonprofit organizations and government agencies may employ work-study students under the Off-Campus Work-Study Program. All employers are required to have an off-campus work-study agreement with Penn. If you have found a job with a nonprofit organization or governement agency, you must first contact Tam Nguyen at seomail@pobox.upenn.edu before you begin working.
Online Application
Eligibility for Federal Work-Study is based on financial need. Currently enrolled students, except incoming students and graduating students, should electronically submit this application. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing your application. Not having both 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 FAFSAs completed will delay processing.
Once your application is processed, you will receive your decision via email.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION IS JULY 1, 2025.
